where it began

Hello, I'm Holtermonster.

I'm a working creative living in Memphis— I design, illustrate, brand, copywrite, build websites, and make posters.

On the side, I work on my ever-expanding line of Holtermonster products—shirts, stickers, buttons, magnets, and other stuff bearing my custom illustrations and type treatments.

I'm also just generally a fan of monsters, the color black, and everything to do with Halloween.

Over the years, I've set up booths at art markets, holiday sales, and vendor festivals. I've been lugging my stuff out to Cooper-Young Festival for over a decade. On Time Warp Drive-In nights, I'm set up outside the concessions stand at the Summer Drive-in selling posters and stickers (below).

I've done great with the support of my awesome customers, but I thought it'd be pretty damn cool if there was an event where the weird stuff was the focus instead of the afterthought. So, I created Monster Market.

Along came monster market

Think of Monster Market as a transient art consignment shop—curated to include only the finest and weirdest handmade stuff. I carry shirts, posters, prints, original paintings and sculptures, housewares, wall-hangings, costume pieces, enamel pins, patches, buttons, badges, stickers, jewelry, taxidermy, bone art, coffee beans, hot sauce, handpies, and a few things that are honestly a bit beyond description.

Visit Monster Market to find the perfect gift for your Halloween-junkie neighbor, horror-enthusiast cousin, metalhead mom, goth girlfriend, or weirdo sibling. I carry lots of things from all kinds of weird makers.

who makes it happen

Monster Market is made possible by dozens of amazing makers who contribute their work, and also by an awesome team of weirdos who volunteer their time. These people staff the store, style the inventory, build out the displays, and help make decisions:

Reagan Crow
Matthew Leathers
Blaine Garrard
